Initial memory — Encoding
Understand the meaning, pronunciation, and basic usage.
Mechanism & Actions
When correct: Move to Box 2 if you understand and remember after 2–3 repetitions.
When incorrect/forgotten: Keep Box 1 and add more examples or personal notes to make it easier to remember.

Recognition — Recognition Check
Ensure you recognize the word when you see it in context.
Mechanism & Actions
When correct: Move to Box 3 if you answer correctly 80% or more.
When incorrect/forgotten: Return to Box 1 and add a similar shadow card to reinforce.

Auditory Recognition — Auditory Recognition
Strengthen the connection between sound ↔ text ↔ meaning.
Mechanism & Actions
When correct: Move to Box 4 if you listen and understand correctly in real context.
When incorrect/forgotten: Return to Box 1 or 2: incorrect pronunciation → Box 2, not understanding → Box 1.

Active Recall — Active Recall
Practice recalling words or sentences without prompts.
Mechanism & Actions
When correct: Move to Box 5 if you type correctly 2–3 times in a row or use it in real life.
When incorrect/forgotten: Return to Box 2 or 3: incorrect spelling → Box 3, completely forgotten → Box 2.

Fluency Integration — Fluency Integration
Use the word naturally in conversation or writing.
Mechanism & Actions
When correct: Stay in Box 5 or graduate; only review every 1–2 months.
When incorrect/forgotten: If you use it incorrectly or get stuck, return to Box 3 to practice listening recognition.
